RM of Bone Creek’s story
The Rural Municipality of Bone Creek No. 108 was incorporated on December 11, 1911, in the southwest part of Saskatchewan.
Over the years the municipality has been run from more than one place. Instow and Scotsguard each served in turn as the seat of the municipality, and each was a village until it was dissolved, Scotsguard on December 31, 1951 and Instow on December 31, 1953. Today the RM's office is in Shaunavon.
The hamlet of Simmie lies within the RM, along with the localities of Illerbrun, Instow and Scotsguard. Highways 13, 631 and 343 connect these communities. The RM is governed by an elected council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the second Wednesday of every month.
